This has been one of the toughest decisions I have had to make in a while (that’s not true, I had to choose this morning if I wanted swirl or chocolate ice cream so). However, there can only be one lucky research topic to take the prize. And the winner is…

Of course, I’m joking. I have chosen to do “How has sports changed with the introduction of media?” This is a passion project for me as my dream is to be a sports journalist/PR worker. I think this will be an interesting subject that obviously pertains to the field I am interested in. My preliminary research has shown that there is a lot of books on this, especially in the last few years. I am concerned that even though there are a few books on it, that I will not find a satisfactory number of sources. I think my topic may be a too specific, but I can narrow it down as I delve deeper into the research. I have looked up on Quest to make sure there was enough sources and read a few articles on the topic.

I do hope that this topic works out so I don’t have to start the process over again, but

  1. I always love reading your blog posts! You’re research will also be enjoyable to read. I look forward to understanding how sports have changed because of the media. What made you fall in love with the idea of being a sports journalist/PR worker?

    1. I fell in love with sports journalism and PR work because of my love of hockey. I love ice hockey, specifically the Washington Capitals. In order for me to understand the game better I started following sports journalists who specialized on the Caps. I also started watching the Caps pre and post game shows to see the plays and here expert’s views on what was going on. This process helped me recognize my love for media and its ability to connect fans.
